Application for membership

To apply for membership please complete an application form and make a payment of 1 month’s (Senior or Junior) or 1 year’s (all other classes) membership – see here for details.

Forms and payment can be sent to: Membership Secretary, Gloucester Rowing Club, 326 Bristol Road, Gloucester, GL2 5DH. Alternatively, leave them in the Treasurer’s tray at the Club.

Membership Classes

There are 6 classes of membership:

Senior – entitled to full use of the Club’s facilities.

Junior – must be in full-time education or eligible to row in Junior events under the rules of British Rowing. Entitled to full use of the Club’s facilities subject to appropriate adult supervision.

Volunteer – coxes, coaches and umpires. They may only use the Club’s boats and boating facilities with the express permission of the Captain.

Patrons – lifetime members. They may only use the Club’s boats and boating facilities with the express permission of the Captain and will pay a usage fee determined by the Annual General Meeting.

Associate – they may only use the Club’s boats and boating facilities with the express permission of the Captain and will pay a usage fee determined by the Annual General Meeting.

Temporary – May use the Club’s boats and boating facilities as agreed by the Captain. Temporary membership will last for a fixed term agreed in advance which will not exceed 4 months; the fee will be agreed by the Committee taking account of the degree of access to Club facilities permitted and any costs that the Club will incur and will be payable in advance.

Members may transfer to another class of membership by notifying the Membership Secretary and paying of the appropriate fee.

Parents or guardians of a member under 16 may apply for Associate membership to be able to represent the member at meetings of the Club. No membership fee will be payable. This is limited to one such membership per family.
